Description
Equations, Inequalities, Order of Operations Worksheets
These math worksheets for 2nd and 3rd graders contain problems on solving simple (addition and subtraction only) equations and inequalities. We also include problems with the order of operations worksheets or the PEMDAS rule.
Children learn about true and false equations and inequality and repeat addition/subtraction facts families.
Children do not know what the variable is yet. That is why we use an empty space instead of a variable. Children must find and insert a missing number to make the equation or inequality true. For example: 28 – ? = 3 or 10 + ? > 20
The order of operation worksheets start with 2-3 step addition/subtraction problems with parentheses and improve to multi-step calculations with multiplication. The main goal of these problems is not to make complicated calculations but to practice and rehearse the PEMDAS rule. Students can make all calculations mentally. Also, it is a good practice to repeat multiplication facts.
These math worksheets for 2nd and 3rd graders have progressively increasing difficulty levels, so they are suitable for beginners and advanced students. First, students start with one-step problems and improve their skills by solving two- and three-step equations and inequalities.
