One of the main indicators of the formation of a basic system of mathematical knowledge and skills in the category, “Arithmetic operations”, is the ability to add numbers and identify the properties of their actions within 10. A child must not only know the numbers from 0 to 9, but also be able to determine and write them. Moreover, he/she must know the count from 1 to 10 (both direct and reverse), confidently count objects up to 10, perform addition operations of single-digit numbers within 10 in increments of +0, +1, and +2.
The test results showed that this indicator, unfortunately, has not been fully formed and its value is less than 85%. This indicates basic skills to perform the addition of single-digit numbers within 10 in increments of +0, +1, +2, however, the student performs additions with errors.
